IDENTIFICACIÓN DE LA MADERA

Descripción anatómica de la madera

Wood diffuse porous. Vessels solitary and in short radial multiples. Tangential diameter of vessel lumina 150 to 200 micras (medium). Vessels per mm2 less than 6 (rare). Simple perforation plates. Vessel-ray pits similar to intervessel pits in size and shape. I Axial parenchyma in marginal or in seemingly marginal bands. Paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. 3 to 4 cells per parenchyma strand. 4 to 10 rays per mm (medium). Rays 1 to 4 seriate. Heterogeneous rays and/or multiseriate heterogeneous rays. Body ray cells procumbent with mostly 2 to 4 rows of upright and/or square marginal cells (Kribs-II). Fibers with simple to minutely bordered pits.

TRABAJABILIDAD

Aserrado

It saws easily, with a slight tendency to produce woolly surfaces.

Corte de chapa rotativa

It is interesting for peeling.

Chapa tranchada

It is interesting for peeling.

Pérdida de filo_romado

The wood may have a moderate blunting effect on cutting tools.

Maquinado general

Machining operations are reportedly easy, but it has a tendency to produce woolly surfaces. It behaves better when seasoned.

Cepillado

Seasoned material planes well to yield relatively smooth surfaces.

Clavado

Good nail-holding properties.

Encolado

The material is reported to glue easily.

Lijado

Sanding qualities are reported to improve in seasoned wood.

Acabado

It needs care in finishing, because of the resin present in the wood.

Doblar al vapor

This species has moderate steam bending properties.

Facilidad para herramientas manuales

Dry timber is reported to work well with hand tools.
