Description botanique
Aspidosperma trees are typically small to medium sized, unbuttressed trees, with ridged bark, up to 30 m tall, with diameters of 60 to 90 cm. The boles are usually straight and cylindrical, clear for two-thirds of the tree height. Aspidosperma species exu

It is a medium sized tree from the terra firme rain forests in the lower Amazon region.
Répartition naturelle
Trees from the Aspidosperma family (Araracanga group) are reported to grow from Mexico, through Central America and into the high forests in the lower Amazon.
