Vessels per mm2 less than 6 (rare). Tyloses common. Tangential diameter of vessel lumina 100 to 200 micras. Vessel-ray pits coarse throughout the ray cell. Tyloses common. Simple perforation plates. Intervessel pits large, 10 micras or more. Simple perforation p Axial parenchyma confluent. Axial parenchyma in marginal or in seemingly marginal bands. Occasionally prismatic crystals in non-chambered axial parenchyma cells. 5 to 8 cells per parenchyma strand. 4 to 10 rays per mm (medium). Rays 1 to 4 seriate. Prismatic crystals in upright and/or square ray cells. Body ray cells procumbent with one row of upright and/or square marginal cells (Kribs-III). Body ray cells procumbent with one row of upright and/or squa Fibers with simple to minutely bordered pits.
