Description botanique
The trees are reported to develop straight to irregular boles, with commercial lengths of 9 m long and 50 cm in the average. Buttresses up to 2 m are also reported.
Répartition naturelle
In Brazil this species is reported in the Para and Amazonas states.

Wood diffuse porous. Vessels exclusively solitary (over 90%). Tangential diameter of vessel lumina 150 to 200 micras (medium). Vessels per mm2 6 to 10 (medium). Occasionally multiple perforation plates. Multiple perforation plates. Vessel-ray pits coarse throug Occasionally apotracheal axial parenchyma diffuse and/or diffuse in aggregates. Occasionally paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. Prismatic crystals in non-chambered axial parenchyma cells. Prismatic crystals in chambered axial parenchyma Rays more than 10 per mm (abundant). Rays 1 to 2 seriate. Heterogeneous rays and/or multiseriate heterogeneous rays. Body ray cells procumbent with mostly 2 to 4 rows of upright and/or square marginal cells (Kribs-II). Fibers with distinctly bordered pits.
