Description Of The Tree

Botanical Description

The tree reaches a height of 35 m. The bole is straight and cylindrical, has thin buttresses. The trunk diameter attains up to 130 cm.

Natural Habitat

Cynometra ananta is common in wet areas of evergreen forests.

Simple perforation plates. Vessel-ray pits similar to intervessel p Axial parenchyma in discontinuous tangential lines. Prismatic crystals in chambered axial parenchyma cells and/or in fibers. 5 to 8 cells per parenchyma strand. Rays more than 10 per mm (abundant). Rays and/or axial elements irregularly storied. Rays 1 to 4 seriate. Rays 1 to 2 seriate. Homogeneous rays and/or sub-homogeneous rays (all ray cells procumbent). Body ray cells procumbent with one row of upright and/or squ Non-septate fibers. Color

The sapwood is pink-brown or yellow, it has a thickness of 2.5 to 7.5 cm. The heartwood is dark red-brown with fine markings, it is clearly demarcated.
