Description Of The Tree

Botanical Description

It is a small to medium sized tree up to 30 m tall, branchless for 12 m, up to 80 cm in diameter, without or with small buttresses.

Natural Habitat

Hibiscus species are found in secondary lowland forests. Sometimes they are also found in primary forests, up to 1,500 m of altitude.

Paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. Axial parenchyma aliform. Axial parenchyma confluent. Axial parenchyma storied. Rays storied. Body ray cells procumbent with one row of upright and/or square marginal cells (Kribs-III). Fibers storied.
