Botanical Description

Medium-sized trees with a 9-15m long bole.

Natural Habitat

Spesies occur in dry or dense forest in patches of forest in open country or as an under-storey tree of rainforests at elevations from near sea level to 1160m.

Natural Distribution

Fiji and Vauatu.

Axial parenchyma in continuous tangential lines (included in reticulate and scalariform). Paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. Axial parenchyma aliform. Rays of two distinct sizes. Rays as wide or wider than the pores. Larger rays width 0. 1 mm or more and 2 mm or more in height. Rays less than 4 per mm (rare). Sheath cells. Larger rays more than 4 seriate.
