Description Of The Tree

Botanical Description

The trees are reported to reach heights of 25 m, with trunk diameters of 35 cm. The tree is free of branches for one half of its total length.

Natural Habitat

Ocotea veraguensis is reported from the sea level up to 1,200 m above the sea level, growing on humid sites close to rivers and streams.

Natural Distribution

The natural growth range of this species is Central America and northern South America, from Mexico and Panama, southward to Colombia.
