The trees are reported to reach heights of 35 m, with trunk diameters of 50 cm in the average. The bole is fluted.
This species is reported to be common in the Amazonian forests of Colombia.
Colombia, especially in the Magdalena valley.
Vessels exclusively solitary (over 90%). Occasionally tangential diameter of vessel lumina 100 micras or less. Occasionally axial parenchyma in marginal or in seemingly marginal bands. Occasionally paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. Axial parenchyma in thick bands. Rays more than 10 per mm (abundant).
Unrestricted
Odor and taste are indistinct.
The sapwood is not differentiated, the heartwood is yellow.
The grain is mostly straight
This species is reported to have a fine to medium texture.
The surface of the wood is naturally moderate in luster.
