Anatomic Description Of Wood

Wood diffuse porous. Vessels per mm2 5 to 20. Simple perforation plates. Intervessel pits large, 10 micras or more. Apotracheal axial parenchyma diffuse and/or diffuse in aggregates. Occasionally apotracheal axial parenchyma diffuse and/or diffuse in aggregates. Occasionally prismatic crystals in chambered axial parenchyma cells and/or in fibers. 5 to 8 cells per parenchy Rays more than 10 per mm (abundant). Prismatic crystals in radial alignment in procumbent ray cells (chambered cells). Body ray cells procumbent with over 4 rows of upright and/or square marginal cells (Kribs-I). Occasionally body ray cells procumbent with m Occasionally fibers with distinctly bordered pits.
