It is reported to grow in the subtropical humid forests of Bolivia.

Paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. Axial parenchyma aliform. Axial parenchyma confluent. Rays storied.

It has no distinct odor or taste.
The sapwood is clearly differentiated, it is light brown in color, the heartwood is bark brown color with dark streaks.
This species is reported to have interlocked grain.
This species is reported as durable, especially when it is not in contact with the ground.
