Description Of The Tree

Botanical Description

It is a small to medium-sized, sometimes are large tree of up to 20 m tall. The bole is often rather crooked.

Natural Habitat

This species usually follows river banks, nevertheless it is also found in dry open country or where regular droughts are common but stored underground water is available.

Natural Distribution

It occurs in all States of Australia except Tasmania.

Vascular/vasicentric tracheides present. Simple perforation plates. Apotracheal axial parenchyma diffuse and/or diffuse in aggregates. Paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. Fibers with distinctly bordered pits.
