Description Of The Tree

Botanical Description

The tree is reported to reach a total height of 25 m and 80 cm in diameter. The trunk is straight, but often fluted, with buttresses.

Natural Habitat

Phyllostylon brasiliense is a gregarious tree, found close to rivers, streams and lakes, growing on well drained sites.

Natural Distribution

In Bolivia it is reported in Tarija, Chuquisaca and Santa Cruz departments. In Brazil it is found in the Mato Grosso state.
