Botanical Description
It is a medium sized tree, up to 12 to 18 m tall and a diameter of 120 to 180 cm.

Vessels per mm2 5 to 20. Wood diffuse porous. Tangential diameter of vessel lumina 200 micras or more (large). Vestured pits. Vessel-ray pits similar to intervessel pits in size and shape. Simple perforation plates. Intervessel pits medium, 7 to 10 micras. Simpl Apotracheal axial parenchyma diffuse and/or diffuse in aggregates. Axial parenchyma aliform. Axial parenchyma confluent. 3 to 4 cells per parenchyma strand. Occasionally axial parenchyma storied. Rays storied. 4 to 10 rays per mm (medium). Rays 1 to 4 seriate. Homogeneous rays and/or sub-homogeneous rays (all ray cells procumbent). Fibers with simple to minutely bordered pits. Fibers very thick walled.
